Setting Up Email on Your Computers

Once you have set up email accounts on the MSLN Mail Server using the Network Management Tool your users are all set to use the web-based Horde email. If you want to use and email program like Outlook, or Thunderbird you have to configure the email software for each person on the computers they will be using to retrieve their email.

Important:
If you are using any version of Microsoft's Outlook for mail, please remember that you must be vigilent with Microsoft security updates and virus protection since Outlook is the program most likely to spread and transmit viruses.

Again, if you are using only Web Mail, you can skip all these steps and go directly to: http://mail.msln.net/ to choose the most current version of Horde.

If you want to use an email client (email software) you need to answer the following questions...

  • Is the email program installed?
    • If Yes, go on to the next question.
    • If No, you must install some kind of email software before continuing.

  • Does each person have their own computer?
    • If Yes, go on to the section on Configuring Email Programs
    • If No, you must configure your computer for multiple users.
Call or email your Circuit Rider for assistance.
    • Note: It is much easier to use WebMail than to configure email for multiple users on one computer!
